I admit it. I LOVE Female Orgasms!

It’s true…female orgasms rule.

For the last few weeks I’ve been saying it out loud, writing it on the back of my notebooks and have even left that statement on a few blackboards at various Bay Area Colleges. I just can’t help myself!

You might be wondering what has led me to feel the need to make a public spectacle of myself. It’s this new book that we’re carrying, it has this crazy effect on me! I’ve noticed that when I have the book with me, people smile and ask to take a look at it. People seem to gravitate toward it, even the shy ones. I’ve also noticed that after someone picks it up, they have this strange tendency to put the book next to their face and smile. It’s like a drug! A drug I tells ya! When you flip it over the smiling faces of authors Marshall Miller and Dorian Solot bring forth the same enthusiast smile. There is something about them that is approachable, friendly and cute, very much like the book title itself.

Apparently this educator duo has been running workshops on the East Coast for years and used the information they have compiled over the years to write a book containing all of the best information. You can read more about what they do on their website if you’re interested.

Before we got this book in stock, our fabulous director of education Charlie told me that he felt this was the best book out on female orgasm. I trust his opinion but thought that I would check it out for myself before making up my mind about the subject. Each work day I faithfully checked our inventory, waiting to see if it was in stock and the moment it popped up on our New Items list I called upstairs and ordered a copy for myself.

Charlie was right. It IS the best book written on female orgasm! It is appropriate reading for all genders and sexual orientations (although obviously it’s focused on females. If we’re lucky some day they’ll come out with a male version). They cover what an orgasm is, how to have one, gspots, lbtq orgasms (cutely labeled “coming with pride”), anal play, safer sex, vibrators, intercourse, oral sex and more.

The writing style is easy to read and humorous without sacrificing content. This means that it has the rare ability to be a book with value to both people who are new to sexual exploration and those who are well versed. Often with sex books I find that they’re wordy, aimed at the sexually liberated elite or dumbed down. This book does neither. Even after being a sex educator for the last bunch of years, I still felt like I learned something by the end yet I found it simple to follow.

I find that carrying this book with me is almost a political act. Just allowing people to see how unashamed I am of the big bold letters on its cover seems to make it ok for people to engage in new, frank discussion about sex. All of my friends are getting this book for Xmas this year. Hell, I’ll send it to my grandma & brother too. Thanks Dorian and Marshall! You just made my holiday shopping so much easier!
