So I’m here as GV’s latest blogger and I hope to keep you informed and entertained with the topics that are near and dear to my heart. For my inaugural blog, I’m going to cover the basics for those of you in the same financial situation as I am (read: broke).
Working with all these fantastic toys, I’ve realized that the super fancy things are wonderful, but completely out of my price range. But, thanks to my father (the man is tightwad but God bless him), I’ve learned that all you really need are quality basics to get by.
The basics (and this is for everyone but you can pick and choose what you feel you’re going to need):

• 1. Harness
• 2. Dildo
• 3. Lube
• 4. Vibe
• 5. Anal Plug (optional, since you’re going to have the dildo…)

Quality and affordable: The Bronco Harness! $76.00
This harness is made of soft garment leather, is basic black with simple white stitching. Best part about it? You can remove the backing – so it can be as close to wearing nothing as possible. If you can afford a double dildo, like the Nexus, Feeldoe, you can use it with this lovely little number. It’s available in Medium (fitting up to 45”) or Large (fitting up to 56”).

Another possible option is the Velvet Harness - $52.00
The benefit of this option is that it fits up to 60” and also features the removable backing. Possible downside is that it’s not leather (obviously, hence the name) but you can wash it like most intimate apparel items (think quality undies) and keep it completely clean.

The Perfect Dildo: Woody. $60.00
I love Woody. I work in the call center and every time I get a customer on the phone looking for a quality dildo – I offer up Woody. Silicone (non-porous and easy to keep clean), Woody is perfect in size: 6.5 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter. Realistic (minus balls) and harnessable, Woody’s curve and slightly pronounced head are great for G-spot stimulation. And it’s great for anal (flared base!).

If you want to splurge on the dildo, Vixen Creations has recently come out with the Vixskin version of my pal Woody, named Mustang. Lube:
Honestly, if you don’t need it and some people don’t, skip it. If you might need it on rare occasions, saliva works great. But I personally need lube. I actually love lube and don’t know how I lived without it. Sad times those were.
Anyways, best deal: Slippery Stuff Gel 16oz $19.00.

Buy in bulk – it’s the American way! The 16oz bottle is a super deal but the best part – this lube is taste-less and odorless. No taste. No odor. And it’s thick, which makes it good for anal. Added benefits – great for people with sensitivities (no glycerin or propylene glycol and has very few ingredients) and it’s water based, so if it looses some slickness – you don’t have to add more lube, just add a bit of water.

Since this wouldn’t be Good Vibrations without the Vibe:
This part is tricky, and it does depend on personal preference but here are my top three for quality and cost

Silver Bullet: $16.00
Sure, it’s not the most beautiful toy we carry but this sucker is strong. And it’s small and cheap. Selling point on this sucker – it’s efficient. That’s right efficient, as in gets the job done.

Turbo Glider: $20.00
Available in two different colors and shapes; the Turbo Glider blueberry and raspberry are like the standard hard smoothie but taken up a notch. The best part is – they’re STRONG. We rate intensity on a scale of 1-5 (1 being the lowest and 5 the highest) and these suckers are 4. Awesome.

Twice as nice – Aqua Rabbit: $45.00
Want to know what the hype is around all those twice as nice Rabbits? This is the best option for those wanting to check out the toy that will both penetrate and stimulate externally. It’s waterproof and has a really great bendable vibrating shaft – 5.5 inches insertable and 1.5 inches in diameter.

And in the end…the Anal Plug:
If you want something bigger than your finger and smaller than the Woody or something you can keep in during sex, this is my favorite:

The Golden Boy: $22.00
It’s thinner in diameter than the Woody, measuring 1 inch at the thickest and about 4inches long, this little toy can be used with or without a harness. And you can keep it in easily, thanks to the sturdy little base. But honestly, for anal, you can use your fingers (with anal cots or gloves!) until you work up to the Woody (have I driven that point home yet?).
So there’s my list. It’s the starter kit on budget for anyone wanting quality items for a reasonable cost. If I win the Mega Millions in the near future, I might post the fabulous items on my list for those with no financial restrictions. Keep your fingers crossed for me, I’ve got debts…
