2006 was a another great year for Good Vibrations. In addition to continuing our quest of dispelling evil sexual myths, replacing them with positive accurate sex information, and creating clean, safe environments for people to find high-quality products we managed to put together our First Annual Amatuer Erotic Film Competition, launch GVTV as well as Club GV, and our Holiday Ball was a Huge Candy-luscious success. Thankfully the holidays gave us some time to wind down, relax a little with our friends and families, and recharge our batteries for a whole new year of Book Signings, Festivals, GVTV Superstardom, Erotic Films, Holiday Balls, and even more surprises and special treats from your favorite sex educating toy retailers. And if all that wasn’t enough, 2007 also marks Good Vibration’s 30th Birthday!

For me, New Year’s always seems a more appropriate time for thanks as well as reflection (Thanksgiving usually revolves more around my father’s famous greenbean casserole). And I am thankful for so many things from last year. 2006 makred the end of my higher education and saw me finish my MFA. I also began working here at GV and I just can’t tell you how rewarding an experience it has been so far. I know how lucky I am to wake up in the morning and actaully get excited about going to work. I am also thankful for my incredibly supportive family which definitely blinked a few times when I told them I got a job with a feminist sex-toy retailer, but when they visited the website and read our mission statement, they told me how proud they were that I was working for such a socially responsible organization. And it’s true, creating gift bags and making donations to various non-profits is one of the best parts of my job. Who wouldn’t feel good picking through our great selection of toys and books which will not only make one lucky individual very happy, but creates needed funds for breast cancer research, domestic abuse shelters, LGBT events, and more.

So Here is my short list of things I’m really excited about, with more juicy details to come:
