Two quick things that made me smile within the last 24 hours:
1. This article, from Reuters. It explains how the decline in teen pregnancy rates in the US have been due to increased use of contraception, and NOT because of abstinence only education.
I knew it. Read the article.
2. Waiting for the BART train this morning, two dudes in full Cal Berkeley gear joked about the GV ad on the walls of the station. “Nah, but for real. If you ever need to go there, I got this 10% discount thing, for being a frequent shopper. Just let me know dude.” There was no way they guessed that I work at the store (no one ever does), so my eavesdropping went unnoticed. This made me smile because they were so….dude-ish. Who else wears Cal sweatshirts?
Except, of coure, for the stream of people I passed as I exited the station. Game day? I don’t know, and don’t really care. I just like that super football guys (not the athlete type, but the sit in the stands and scream, drunk, type) come to my store and use their “discount thing” (we do give a student discount, just so you know….).
Happy for birth control and sex positive frat boys,
.jameson.
