Hmmmm.

Told the Boyfriend my views on non-monogamy (I think it can be a great way to exist in a relationship so long as it’s done thoughtfully and with some level of self-awareness/responsibility) and he responded with “yeah. I kind of think that if two people are into each other they should make up their minds to stick with one another and that should be good enough.” Hmmmmmm.
The big girl was sitting on my bed watching me type and saw me get all frowney so she decided to divert me by making up a new game.

[Me continuing to type/frown but also listening to her as she elaborates on the rules.]

Kid: O.K we’re going to play a game where I tap on two things and you tell me which is which.
Kid: [tap] [TAP]
Me: Ouch. That sounded painful. Are you o.k.?

Kid: yes. [tap] [TAP]
Kid: O.K. the “painful” is Mrs. Pepper and the other one is Mr. Salt.
Kid: [pause] Did you want Theme music?
Me: Of course!
Kid: Da don data da dan dan don da dunt [tap]
Me: Was that a tap??
Kid: I can’t tell you my friend! You must guess…
Me: Uh, Mr. Salt?
Kid: O.K.! Here’s the next one…

and so on and so forth until we reached ten taps and she told me how many I got right — 4 out 10…

Honestly, I was at the same time trying to uphold my side of what was rapidly turning into an on-line spat but kid-cuteness won out so in the end I just signed off with a “well, let’s take this one day at a time and see how it goes.” Before laping on the bed to tickle my Big Girl into submission.

I swear, kids rock!
